Teachers With An Impact

In High School I liked to coast by and never thought education would be very important to me. I always maintained a B average while never studying or doing homework. My senior in High School I took three college-like courses: calculus, biology, and US history. I did not increase the amount of time I spent studying or doing homework even with the plethora of material that came with these three courses. Not until the second semester did my US history teacher, Mrs. Schmittz, sit me down and say that I was capbale of much more. I wanted to prove her right and that I was capble of more than a B and could achieve an A. I significantly improved the amount of time I studied and spent on my homework. The time came when I received my report card at the end of the year. I did not want to be disappointed with yet another B. Instead, I received an A in each course. I figured out that studying was easy, and so was getting good grades. I have applied the same study habits in college and received many awards and scholarships for my grades. Mrs. Schmittz put the spark in me too try harder and never settle for anything less than my best.
